I am wanting a new set of tires and wheels for my 2005 660 Rhino. My concern is the loss of power if I go with too big of a tire/wheel combination. I am either wanting the Terracross 26" X 14 Tires or the Terracross 25" with 12" wheels. I have also considered the Bighorn 26" Tires with 12" wheels (these are very heavy though) and I do not want to lose power but I do want to improve handling. Do the offset wheels make the Rhino feel a lot more stable or just a little?
Does anyone in here run the 14" Tires/Wheels and if so did you you lose power? Did you notice a handling difference?
Any advice would be appreciated.

I HAVE ITP 14" x 26" TERRACROSS TIRES WITH 14" ITP RIMS. I HAVE A DRAGONFIRE CDI, K&N FILTER WITH OUTERWEAR & A BILLET EXHAUST TIP. WITH THE BED FULLY LOADED & MY WIFE & MYSELF IN THE RHINO. WE RAN 53 MPH. THE TERRACROSSES WORK GREAT IN ROCKS & DIRT. THEY WORK OKAY IN THE SAND BUT PADDLES WOULD BE BETTER. SO FOR ME THE TERRACROSS 14"X26" TIRES IS THE WAY TO GO. OUR RHINO IS A 2007 660 SPORT EDITION. THE OFFSET WHEELS MAKE IT FEEL VERY STABLE.

Thank you for the input. One more question is....with the larger tires and wheels it is harder to steer or easier?

I CHANGED THE TIRES THE DAY I GOT IT SO I DON'T KNOW. I KNOW YOU DON'T WANT THE FRONTS OFFSET TOO MUCH OR IT WILL BE HARDER TO STEER & HARDER ON THE BALL JOINTS & STEERING PARTS.

Agreed. Except - I love my Bighorns The 26" Bighorns are more like 27" and are heavy in the sand. I haven't really noticed power loss except in the sand. Also, I think the offset helps stability a lot.

I enjoy the Terracross tires but wish I would have went with 12's instead of 14's to get more dome. The tires do hook up very nicely in mud and snow but seem very "heavy" in sand. If you look at the terracross look here for package deals, you may get a better price from them for calling and ask them to drop ship from ITP. http://www.187rideeasy.com/default.asp

Well, I wish I had seen the previous post from Fasttrax so I could have done a little bit more comparison shopping. Anyway, I ordered the 26 x 14's for the Rhino with ITP SS212 Black Wheels I did not think the price was too bad @ $775.00 shipped to my front door. I am just nervous that these will be hard to steer compared to the stock tires and wheels and that the power loss will drive me crazy.
I do have a Black Rhino CDI and a K&N air filter but other than that it is stock.

I think you will be happy with them anyway. I have no regrets till itcomes to the sand. In mud, snow and rock they crawl, hook up and track nicely and don't chase ruts easily as the stocks.

wouldnt the 12 inch wheels give a more plush ride, and 14 inch wheels a more stable ride due to less tire height?

Just bought a 06 with a long travel kit, it has ITP Hole shot ATR 12 inch. Any feedback on these tires?
