Re: I have sat in a 2009 Razor/Disappointed

Posted: 22 Jul 2008 19:48    Post subject: I have sat in a 2009 Razor/Disappointed

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just sat in, touched and looked over a 2009 Razor. The MSO says 2009 and so does the shipping label. No changes like we keep hearing about.  Disppointed you bet! Was hoping for something more on improvements. Here is what I noticed:These are changes I noticed from my first generation Rzr.

1. Still 760 cc motor
2. The shoulder/arm net has been replaced with Plastic protector
3. Indentition in the floor board where your heel/foot rest
4. Storage box on the side of drivers box with lid that has same kind of fasterner as hood and motor cover
5. Muffler seems to come out further and also has an exhaust tip that is turned down to help with noise and fumes
6.Where the exhaust pipe come out of the exhaust header there is an added heat sheild to stop debris from laying on pipes
7. The air filter systems looks the same as the 2008, air cleaner is paper and has the sock on it
8.This really is a draw back, their are no more backup/work lights on the Rzr and the switch on the dash is gone too. Bad deal!
9. Foot gas pedal spring does feel stiffer??
I could be mistaken but I visually I noticed no other changes, could be wrong but that is all I noticed. I sold my 2008 for a 2009.

Like John Wayne once said " Life is tough but even toughter if your stupid!

Now lets hope Polaris has done something for the Rangers. I have my doubts after this disappointment.

Re: I have sat in a 2009 Razor/Disappointed

After posting" I sat in 2009 Rzr" on the PRC forum site they deleted the post off their Forum. They have been telling their members about all the changes that were going to be made on the RZR which is total crap on the standard Rzr. They have lost total credibility with me. So much for free speech. I think they are in Polaris's back pocket.

Re: I have sat in a 2009 Razor/Disappointed

I know they have not changed the standard RZR but they did add a new one to the line up, I think it is called the RZR extreme and it has factory long travel kit and a HO 800 motor and runs 65 mph and may have a face lift too.  big_smile

You must be talking about the new RZR SPORT. I drove one today and loved it. It is 10" wider than stock with chrome moly A-arms. 63 mph out of the box. Look it up on you tube. they have some good video.

Re: I have sat in a 2009 Razor/Disappointed

I thought the rzr-s has the same motor as the standard rzr with some tweaks to the clutch etc to get more top end speed.  I love the look of it though.  They also have the kid rzr (170) which I didn't know about and 2 new special edition colors.

Looks like Polaris has kicked it up a notch...now I wonder what Yamaha might have in there back pocket...hummmmm

they call me MAGNUM

"My-Side-x-Side" 2-seat mini rail with a Yamaha 700 Mtn Max Sled Motor...yea, it's fast

Re: I have sat in a 2009 Razor/Disappointed

It has a hotter cam and better piston and exhaust then the stock 800 engine . the stock RZR has around 48 Hp and the RZR -S has 55 hp, and beware for the 70 hp new sportsman 850 engine that will most likely show up in RZR's in the future, or at least the race versions, here is a link to more info.  http://www.utvguide.net/polaris_rzr_s.htm   big_smile  big_smile  big_smile

Re: I have sat in a 2009 Razor/Disappointed

I am hoping it will happen for the 2010 year for the RZR-s, the standard RZR should get the current RZR-s motor and the ranger xp and the ranger crew should get the 800 engine at some point, That is what i hope for :!: , It would be nice , That is what I would do If I owned Polaris big_smile .
