Hello Everybody! NEWBI here... I am about to buy my first side by side for ranch and construction site. I have found a slightly used '06 610 4x4 with 500 hours....How is the reputation of this animal? I understand some clutch mods may be needed....How are the rearends and 1 cyl motor holding up? Any complaints heard again and again? Thank you for any input!

I think you'd be very happy with it. Its one of the better work style UTV's on the market. I see Mule's all over town here in AZ. Seems like every large lawn & garden maintenance crew owns a fleet of Mules. I'd think if they were breaking down or not worth the money they'd be using something else.
I haven't heard much as far as problems with them. There hasn't been too many members with Mules on this forum.

Thanks for the response...I am wanting to make the step up into 4x4 without spending any more than I need to. I have been building up some golf carts but they are. afterall, just golf carts no matter what the upgrades. Club Car has used the Kawasaki fe290 and 350 1 lungers for some time. I assume this 417 (?) is just another in a long line of dependable singles. Do you know where else I might find more feedback? Thank you again !

Julian? Is that the man with the bus? I read about his trip to Moab. Great pictures! But I thought his was a 3010 Trans 4x4.....hence the nickname. But yeh, would be glad to hear from any Mule owners especially any with the single cylinder motors. I know there are a bunch of these out there. They have been made for 10 yrs +/-. Talked with a guy last nite who was rehabbing 3 that came from DFW airport. They had 25,000 hours on them pulling baggage trains. Thank you, Lugnutz 8)

Hey guys, sorry for the delay in checking in here. If you haven't gotten that 610 yet, you probably should. It's just a smaller version of the tank that I have. 25,000hrs on those units from DFW doesn't surprise me at all. Kawasaki overbuilds all of their MULEs for long-term reliability and dependability. You hardly see one for sale unless the need is gone or they are moving up to a larger/newer model. Most folks keep 'em forever. As long as being in a hurry is not in your job description for the unit, I'm sure you'll get $2800 worth of use out of it if you hardly try at all. One of my friends sells 'em in Texas, their company motto is "Save a truck, drive a MULE!"
I'll get you a link for another MULE friendly board as soon as I get to another computer...

The oportunity to purchase the 610 came and went. As did the 3010. It seems these mules not only don't come up for sale very often but, they are gone quickley when they do. I like the idea of a V-twin in the older 3010. It seems that would have some more torque and longer life than a single?

Lugnutz, here is another forum that is MULE only tech discussions. Lots of folks from Texas, but some from Cali and they have MULEs for sale there occasionally.
Good Luck!
