Re: American Fork Canyon, Utah

I had a great ride up American Fork Canyon on Saturday on the Ranger Crew.  We had stuff going on in the afternoon so I was up there early (6:30am).  It's great because Tibble Fork is only 20 min from my house.  We rode up to Forest Lake.  It was a nice ride.  Then we went back to the main road and headed up to the Grave up near the top.  Great views up there.  I left my camera sitting on the kitchen counter so unfortunately no pics.

I saw a ton of side x sides up there.  Were any of you guys up there?

Where do you guys ride when you go up AF canyon?

I'm open for an early ride most Saturdays.  I spend most weekdays in Mexico so I try to ride early on Saturday so I can get the honey-do list done still in the afternoon.

Re: American Fork Canyon, Utah

I went Saturday as well in my Jeep.  We arrived at Tibble Fork Res parking lot at 8:30 and then took the main road up and over to Midway, had lunch at the Homestead and then came back.  This was my first time up AFC so I need to explorer alot more now.

I saw a few utv's, not to many.  One blue Rhino with long travel, I think it was a wide as my Jeep and also a John Deere 6-wheel farm machine...that bad boy stuck out like a sore thumb  lol

Re: American Fork Canyon, Utah

I saw the John Deere on the trailer going up the canyon as i was leaving.  Wasn't sure if he was heading up to ride or not.  How long did that take you to go all the way to midway?  I've ridden to the point of seeing Midway but ran out of time and didn't make it all the way.

Re: American Fork Canyon, Utah

once you get to the top, I think it's Pole Line Pass, it's only about 15 or 20 min's to the asphault and maybe 5 min's to the town of Midway.

Re: American Fork Canyon, Utah

We went back up to American Fork Canyon today.  We went to Cascade Springs.  It was a nice ride.  It was still really hot up there.  Lot's of great views up that canon.  Here is a pic.

This is a picture of my crew on the Crew overlooking Deer Creek.

Re: American Fork Canyon, Utah

Cosmo95,

I bought me a Polaris Ranger Crew August 21st.  On the 22nd I went up American Fork Canyon.  What a blast.  I was impressed that the Ranger Crew would climb so good.  We Went up trail #111 Mary Ellens Gultch.  We were able to see the cabin and old mineshaft from the second turn out.  However we didn't make it to the cabin physically that last .9 of a mile was really rocky and I decided not to try and go any further.  Had an awesome weekend exploring Mineral Basin and the other areas.

Going to go across Squaw Peek to Hobble Creek in another week.  Here are Pics from my trip.

Re: American Fork Canyon, Utah

Looks like you had a great time.  Where is the trail from Squaw peak to Hobble creek.  I have heard of people Mt. Biking there but didn't know you could ride a sidexside there.  I bet that would be a great ride.  Keep us posted.
