rzr motor damage / air filter failure

im going to keep this short and sweet please. respond to this thread if you have motor damage due to air filter failure . lets start building a list . please dont get carried away about details just post to this thread so we can find you . post to other threads to discuss your details and problems . my rzr has been used around my home, then for 1 weekend desert trip at under 200 miles it died in the desert and the motor is history !

First time out to the dessert, my new 2008 Polaris engine failed and died due to dirt getting past the air filter into the engine. Dealer reported the entire top of engine is ruined. Only 202 miles.

I do not have any OBVIOUS damage yet, but have been finding lots of dirt in the intake tract and some dirt in my oil.

I have a 08 Razr the second time I took it out the engine lost power wouldn't idel.Took it in to the dealer The tech told me that the rubber boot that fits over the intake and the throudle body was not secured.He said you can't really tell if its on securly by looking at.You have to physicaly push on the hoses to see if they are secure.THey put on the 09 modifcation on under warranity
I have a AFT foam filter on right now. Just received the new free air filter from Polaris. Its a lot bigger. I'll try it shortly.It sounds like alot of the problem,could be with air box connections more than filter failer.

i cannot see any damage to my engine and air filter but the chairs and the mirrors are looks so damage .,.so i have nothing to worry about right?
