ok guys,
Im new to this site but have done engines and all before on jet skis and such
I have my uncle's 03 ranger (series 11) and have two problems right now.
First is when I'm trying to remove the carb, i cant seem to figure out how to get the choke cable off. If I could do this, it would be alot easier to disassemble the car.
Also, I have blown the jets out, pulled them and cleaned the carb with cleaner and air pressure and all. I can't seem to get the motor to run with a load. I can crank it and it will not get into high RPM's once in gear. It will run a little better on choke but I have cleaned the jets...... Also, it will not run once i put the filter in place.
Any suggestions?
Also, im waiting on my new filter and other parts right now but it will not run high rpms without bogging down.

Well this is going to be a shot in the dark but if the floats and fuel filter are good and I would guess it could be the fuel pump , If it is bad it could be only giving enough fuel to idle the engine and not enough to run under power, As for the choke cable I will see what i can come up with...

I replaced the pump. Anybody ever played with these carbs?

No, we mostly deal with the fuel injected polaris rangers, Do you have the service manual :?:, If not I have one for the 2004 and may be able to E-MAIL the part on the fuel system if it will help :?: .
