Re: SNORKEL KITS

well first of all ive been told (by ppl that know what theyre talkin about) that you can go up to the hood in a non snorkled ranger and up over the hood for short bursts with no problem. so unless your gonna be doin more than that i wouldn't get one. even if you do want a snorkel, why not make one? theres a thread on prcforum about it, i think the guy spent 35 on it.

Re: SNORKEL KITS

OK, now that we know what you have i will say this, The 2008 RZR has a major problem eating dirt and they have made a lot of changes on the 2009 outside of just changing the air cleaner and adding a sealing grommet, They changed the air intake and added a dust shield and a updated snorkel, The RZR gets its air behind the seat and the ranger xp pulls its air through a snorkel system from under the front hood and for the most part it is a lot cleaner to pull the air from the front of the UTV rather then the rear of the UTV, The RZR gets its air from the worst possible place and that is one of the reasons they have problems, Grant22 has been testing the new air filter and he said it has stopped the dirt from getting into the engine but I am sure it still gets dirty way, way faster then if a ranger xp was running in the same conditions, If you really want to keep your air system cleaner and a lot longer on a 2008 RZR I would look at a snorkel kit just to protect the engine and keep clean air going to the engine, It is a lot cheaper then a new engine  .
