all our riding here are bush trails and mud pits and logging roads
i have a stock 09 700 rhino
no engine work done or wide tire kits or anything like that
just warn bumper + xt40 winch + mamoth speakers and small extras like that
to get ready for the dunes i was gona just throw on some paddle tires
is that going to be ok???
my buddy sais with out the wide travel kit and engine work im just gona get stuck
but he has never been either so his word dosent mean shit
anybody have any input for me please!!!!!!

I do not ride the dunes a lot, but my 660 Rhino does just fine. If the sand is dry you will have trouble making it up big dunes but you will have a lot of fun anyway, just take a different route You might want to at least add some wheel spacers for better stability (or offset rims and better tires - I wouldn't buy paddles for 1 trip). I don't know anything about the Oregon Dunes... the sand might have a higher moisture content and be great for a side by side. Anyone know? Jared - you ever race there?

You will love the sand! It is a ton different than what you are use to! 8) Prepare to feel a loss of power right off the start because sand sure loves to rob the power. Do not spend the time or money in getting paddles. However when you arrive drop your pressure down to 3 psi in all 4 tires. You will go more places and faster than someone with your same machine setup with paddles. Trust me.
Remember all of the "add on" weight or any weight for that matter will slow you down. ie~ Things like your bumper, winch, etc. Keep the tunes though, that is worth the extra weight. lol
Long travel will not make a difference on you getting stuck.
Any other questions feel free to ask.

Take plenty of pictures, for the people stuck in Maine (like me). Id love to hit some sand some time but a few nice teaser pictures would be cool. I just plowed 18inches of snow with my Rhino today, day dreaming of summer.

We are thinking of attending this years Dunefest. Do they take reservations in the dry camp area or is it first come first serve?
