I have a rzr sport and I live in missouri. Today I went riding at a local state park that is in the sand flats, and after driving for probably 30-45 minutes on a motocross style track that I kind of layed out myself, my belt started getting hot and slipping. I was romping it the whole time and the track had some fairly tight turns in it so I was accelerating a lot. But my rzr only has 15 hours on it so I know its not worn. Not to mention it was about 40 degrese today. All the floods were good, the fan wasnt even on, so I know the belt was just slipping.
Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to keep my belt cooler? I saw those grill things that you cut that panel out and put on, but its more where the air intake is, not the belt housing. Do I just need the stiffer clutch springs if I plan to give er hell for this long?

Call dale at dirty dawg performance and get a clutch kit and the upgraded belt for it, his system is about the best going and really should help, the stock systems even on the RZR-s is still not as good as they should be.

You probably already know this, but drive it in low occasionally. I've heard this from several people on belt issues.
Anyway it should be able to handle it. I have an 08 rzr that has had the crap driven out of it for over a year and never had any problems with the belt. The vent kit sounds like the cheapest and most logical fix.
Just my opinion

If you want to keep the load off the belt it is recomended to run in low drive but that is for creaping along and you can not have much fun with that on a dirt track or the dunes, it is good for rock crawling and stuff like that, the stock polaris system is not that great from the factory and needs alot of inprovement and that is why the first upgrade should be a good drive kit and do not look back. the dirty dawg kit is about the best for the polaris machines, I am now at this time running the one from EPI and as of now i am not happy with it, I still lose to much power to the ground and pulls like crap up hill, i will be going back to and upgradeing my drive system to the one from dirty dawg performance.
