The new XP looks good to me! I have seen some pretty big guys driving the RZR but it looks like a tight fit  I will let the guys with Rangers and RZR's give you an educated opinion

There are pros and cons to both. A little more info on your end could help us help you in your decision.
What kind of ridding do you plan on doing?
How many passengers?
Cargo?
Work/play?
etc...?

Been gone on a six day camping trip so have not been on site for a while, the xp and the rzr is really built for two different jobs, the ranger xp is really a duel purpose work and play machine and the rzr is for play, i am 6'2" and 290 lbs and feel cramped in the rzr but still fit, The xp has a wider track and feels a lot more stable then the rzr's due to the heaver duty suspension and wider wheel base, there is a 5 mph difference in the two and a 100 cc difference in the engines, ranger xps are regulated to 40 hp due to some law that Polaris has to work with because of the classification of the xp's and are a detuned sportsman engine, it is normally due to the cam and ecu which can be upgraded to get it back to the sportsman power of around 45 to 48 hp compared to the rzr's 50 to 53 hp, the variations in hp are due to different dynos used in the test and altitudes they were tested at, Bigger tires and clutching upgrades and ecu and exhaust and hotter cam with fuel controller can get 60 mph out of a normally aspirated ranger xp, the 2009 was a big new step for it and would wait for the mid 2009 to 2010 models so if there are any issues Polaris should have the updates done by then, like Kryptonite said more info on the use would help.

Have not seen much troubles with Ranger Xp axles if you keep the horse power down to below 65 horse power and don't drive them like a stolen vehicle in Compton, and use them with common sense, like everything else, things do have a life expectancy, they are built to pull and tug and push snow plow equipment and trailers so they are pretty tuff, when you do break one then it is time to upgrade to gorilla axles, don't just start replacing good equipment before its time :!:, A clutch kit is a must as fare as i am concerned and would go with the Dirty Dawg performance for a primary and complete secondary clutch kit, the ranger xp secondary is not the best they could have done from Polaris, buy the 2009 or 2010 models because they have the twin a-arm front end, 2008 models are about the same as the 2005 models in drive line except stiffer gearing as of 2007, when you do your clutch kit you should match it up to the tire size and the normal altitudes you ride at, as for videos i have no idea but check you tube, there is way to much i could get into and i could write a book on this but when ready we can address this stuff later in the future .

guess it's better later late then never, eh? ....have had my my Ranger XP for two years now and although i drool lookin at all the new side by sides that have come out in the last two years, the XP has really come thru. it's been really handy hauling dirt and landscaping mulch, winching rocks/small boulders, pulled our 4Win`s, and given us hours of riding fun. Never did any four wheeling or off road before owning this. the windshield, winch, plastic roof, and brushguards were the first add-ons. Now i'm about ready to add a few more up-grades. The PRC forum members pretty much effected my decision when i made my purchase. then it was a choice of RZR or XP. since i'm an old fart, i don't care about speed. The XP really amazes me with it's ability to climb just about anything. Might not be the first one to get there......but you will get there. doesn't matter what you settle on.......you will still have fun!!!

I have an 08 RZR and love it. I am 6'4" 270lbs and its not a tight fit for me at all. Having not driven an XP i cant really judge here...
If it's not fun why do it?
