Re: Government laws

Unbelievable,,,, I was just headed for the garage for a snack,,,, I'm so glad I seen this,, WOW,,

Some people must really be bored,, Dictating what is right and wrong for us. This quote is so true

"I really love bikes and ATVs, and have since I was a kid. In all those decades, I never once had the thought or desire to nibble on one, or lick one like an ice cream cone. I've also been around a whole lot of dirt bike kids over all these years. I've still never seen one of them who thought their bike might be tasty,"

Re: Government laws

Says van Hooydonk: "Applying these regulations to ATVs and motorcycles is doing nothing to improve safety; instead, by making these unavailable to for kids to enjoy the sport in a responsible way is creating a dangerous situation. We don't want to see kids on adult motorcycles and ATVs, but when you take [the smaller ATVs and bikes] out of the equation, you run that risk."

The real problem is that if you don't start early in this sport I think you don't learn the kind of respect you should.
If you start at 15-18 you are likely to be that little prick that is riding off trail and giving the sport a bad name.

So parents will be letting the kids ride the bigger rigs too early and the lawsuits will explode.

Unfortunately what it really means is serious decline for the industry.

Re: Government laws

The problem is "Do Gooders" Like Boxer, Finstien, Polosey, and B.O. who only want to help as long as you give up ALL freedom and responsibility! The "Don't ride there" B.S. has never worked in the 35 years I have been Off-Road! They close it anyway, because The Dumocrats are in Bed with P.E.T.A., Earth First, and all the Tree-Hugger Left Wing Wackos. who like Bob Barker give big money! We on the other wave at each other on the few trails and can't vote as a group! We need to be like the NRA and get something done! Attack Liberals all the time and educate people that their "Sport" is next! United we stand!

Re: Government laws

"Not because a child might have an accident on the diminutive machines, but because if a child develops an appetite for the device's brakes or battery terminals and decides to eat the ATV"

( WTF)   If your kid eats parts of an ATV then maybe you should feed them more often.

Re: Government laws

what bullshit is this?.  There are other products, which are known to be more dangerous and more prone for kids to eat rather than ATV's or motorbikes.  I haven't seen any kid at least to eat the these ATV's.  It will only hurt businesses in this already slow economy.

Re: Government laws

Sticking your tongue on the 9v batteries got old, now we are moving up to atv and car batteries, where is the 220v when you need it. Lead base paint is good too. I used to eat it all the time but it's been hard to get lately. lol

Re: Government laws

If your kid is dumb enuf to eat parts off an ATV/UTV you have to ask your self, Are they smart enuf to even ride it?
Or could this all be a part of bad breeding, lets face it some people shouldnt be alowed to breed.
I think the words of Forest Gump say it best. "Stupid is as stupid does."

Re: Government laws

So I go out in the garage and there is an 8 year old neighbor kid eating my battery.

I say hey you little puke, spit that out.

And he says my moms going to sue you.

I hate when that happens, little bastard.
