I have several friends with this kit. It's well built. I think all of the kits, especially the shocks, are expensive.

I've been looking at long travel suspension for a while now, and its good to see the variety that is becoming available.

There are numerous stock a-arm replacement shocks; right now I'm running King shocks, and they are fantastic compared to stock. They are super plush and do not kick back in the whoops, but are limited in the rough stuff due to the stock 7" of suspension travel, and due to only having preload adjustability. They are a super good quality shock though, and easily built on a stronger scale than the Elka preload only adustable stock replacement shocks.

There are at least two companies building suspensions with +3 a-arms and 10" of suspension travel. Numerous shocks are available here, because they use stock length shocks that are sprung and valved correctly for the longer a-arms.

Fireball Racing builds a suspension with +4 a-arms.

Arizona Sport Center builds a suspension with +5 a-arms.

Numerous companies build suspensions with +6 a-arms with 12" to 14" of suspension travel. And there are several different brands of shocks to choose from.

At least one company builds a suspension with +6.5 a-arms, and 15" of suspension travel.

And one company builds a suspension with +7 a-arms, and 16" of suspension travel.

You can buy suspension with tubular a-arms, steel plated a-arms, and even billet aluminum a-arms. And you can buy suspension with preload only adjustable shocks, all the way up to shocks that adjust for preload, ride height, low speed compression damping, high speed compression damping, and rebound damping -- all on-the-fly from reservoirs mounted in the cab if you want.

Prices vary widely.

Shipping cost are unbelievable right now as well. If for example you purchase what I did, you will have to add at least another $1000 to the cost of your products just to cover shipping. At least that is what it cost me to have a front and rear bumper, two seat cage, and a +6.5 LT suspension shipped one state away from where they were built. If I would have known shipping was that much I could have driven there in my one ton dually, paid for the fuel, all my meals, and for a nice motel, and still saved a lot of money over what shipping cost.

I have the rhinomafia kit, I bought it because
They race and win with the exact same kit you purchase, They won corr this past weekend.
There kit is NOT +2 forward and back,which puts less stress on other components (I.E) steering racks and spindels.
They race with those parts stock and have had no issues with them even after hitting a 65 ft triple jump twice.
there customer service is unmatched
they build sand rails also.( must know a little something to do that.)
The top racers use fox racing shocks, that's what comes with therre kit.
kings blow for rhino's.
all positives and no negatives.

If you want a mts kit, lonestar is the only one to get.

Newbie on here!!! but have lots of time in the dezert... Mine has the fabtech stock replacement shocks.. love them huge improvment over stock..I just sold my Neighbor a fabtech long arm kit .... Wow the difference is unbelivable.. Ive got several friends and customers running all different kits...1 buddy has so cal long travel,1 has lonstar,another has one has the billet a dub kit!! 1 with the ruv kit thousands of dollars difference in each kit cant really tell much difference between all of them they all have little things that make them better In my opinnion.. Im probrobly placing my money on fabtech,or the ruv kit for the all around bang for the buck !!! Dont have any experiance in any other kits just my 2 cents!!!! I have the fabtech kit and truly think it needs more work. The shocks are way too harsh on sharp edges, and way too soft on g-outs, dune transitions, whoops or for that matter anything big. The only place these shocks shine looks. They are the toughest looking shocks I have ever seen, too bad they don't work. I'll bet with some valving they would kick ass. I'll never know, I'm not spending another nickle trying to get this kit to work. It will be someone elses cheap soon.

I vote for XMFs kit. It has walker evans shocks with adjustable compression, and comes with springs for either 2 or 4 seat rides. The best thing is the price, cant beat it at $4675.00.

Second vote would be Mason. It is a plate kit, not tube. It's a different look for sure. It works great, comes with a variety of shock options and fits perfect every time. With adjustable shocks it's at least 800 more than the XMF.

I've heard great things about the so cal fab kit and horrible things about thier customer service.

i really like the mason a arms, but i'm not sure if they would be my best bet.
out of mason, dragonfire, socal fab, long travel rhino, rhino mafia, XMF and lonestar, which long travel set up performs the best on the track and in the dunes?

I would suggest looking at the mechanics of the suspension. Look for a kit that relocates the shocks from the stock mounting location. You'll get better use of the shock throughout the entire range of travel when they are relocated further away from the frame. Also, there are some kits now that allow you to mount the shocks to the lower a-arms. This allows you to use a longer shock which provides some suspension improvement but also gives you more options when selecting which shocks to run.
