Re: Rhino Recall

i have always said if you could see the place where these slow speed turn overs take place you would see where they where doing dounuts in the grass or dirt , i agree why cant people take the blame for thier mistakes instead of blaming something or someone . like the other post said it's not a recall . and mine will not go in for the mod's i like mine as is , one of the best hunting rides i have ever had .......

Re: Rhino Recall

So I went to the dealer today to get the new VOLUNTARY recall for my Rhino and come to find out you can not get just the spacers. If they put the spacers in then they have to remove the sway-bar and return it to Yamaha. If you want just the spacers you have to pay $200.00.
They are going to take the sway-bar I payed for and I dont have a choice in the matter. Doesnt make any sence.  roll
I told them they could keep the spacers and if they wanted my sway-bar then they would have to pry it from my cold lifeless fingers.  lol

-1 eligible for class action lawsuit  lol

Any more feedback from anyone that has removed the sway bar? Fasttrax has adapted   Watching him in Moab I really like the articulation, but there is definately more body roll when he is getting crazy  8)

BTW - I heard about another classic lawsuit:
Seems a family found their toddler floating face down in the backyard pool. Kid got out through a doggy door. So what do they do? Sue the doggy door manufacturer... duh!  roll

Re: Rhino Recall

Ok so this thing about the sway-bar was burning my ass. I called Yamaha to get to the bottom of it.
Come to find out the dealers have to remove the sway-bar and keep it for 90 days ( after the 90 days I wasnt told what they did with them)BUT the person I spoke with at Yamaha said that it is part of the Rhino and it does belong to the owner of the machine and if the owner wants the sway-bar back the dealer has to give it to you along with all the parts that go with it. The dealer has to remove it thoe to cover the recall.

I was told I should not put it back on.  lol  It will be back on as soon as I get home.
So dont let your dealer keep parts to your Rhino if you want them back.

Re: Rhino Recall

I do like it off even with the body roll. I was going to take mine in for the free spacers and a helmet offer of a 100.00. I figured if I told them it was taken off a long time ago it wouldn't be a issue. I would contact Yamaha since it is your part and get something in writting and post it here for all of us.

Yamaha should have sent every owner a pair of nets instead. If you have a four seat cage like me it's up to the owner for liability.

Re: Rhino Recall

thats the only reason i am not taking mine in i like the sway bar , i'am a machanic and have been for some 30 years i understand what a sway bar is put on for so mine stays . if people dont know how to ride then keep off , i dont need a bunch of people who have no clue what they are doing in life to try and help me stay safe . i have had my rhino in the deer woods crossing skidder ruts and diches that my 4-wheeler turned over in but the rhino stayed on all 4's . these people should understand being stupid is not a way to try and get rich and by sueing every one instead of taking the blame for thair misstake's is realy sad .

Re: Rhino Recall

If you use it in the woods alot you might enjoy it off. To me it is more stable until turning fast, then it makes you want to slow down.

Yeah im looking into building a set of quick disconnects like people use on jeeps. The thing is that I tow a mower alot and im always on side hills and the loss of and stability would suck. I have unhooked it befor and tryed it and it is better in the woods but really scarry at slow speeds on side hills. lol

Re: Rhino Recall

ya i thought about it just like you said in rock crawling but in the woods i never know what i might be in so i like the ride with it on , i never know when i get lucky enough to have a deer in the back with the exter load it handles great . like i said the ones that get out a play with these and then get hurt during their play want to blame every one else , that it is the makers fought that they got hurt instead of them just being stupid . i dont mean to be hard about this but it is a touchy subject that people are like this and our courts back them in this . one day this guy is going to want to buy something then figure out he cant afford it cause people like him drove the prices out of reach for everyone to own . then watch him bitch to everyone , and talk about who he is going to have to sue ,,,,,

Re: Rhino Recall

Took the Rhino in yesterday for the spacers and the mechanic knew I was going to put the sway-bar back on so he just left it alone and I got my old wheel studs as well just in case I want to remove the spacers some time.

Yamaha Hotline: (800) 962-7926 if anyone has a question about it.

Re: Rhino Recall

I just got back from the Yamaha shop and I was told that their Yamaha rep told them that the owners can keep the sway bar once it is removed. I think I will try mine without the sway bar and put it back on if I don't like it.

It is my understanding that the sway bar makes the rhino more stable at high speed turns and if that is the case my rhino 450 only goes 35 MPH will not have a problem unless they consider 35 Mph high speed. LOL
