Hi - looking for some input from the experts here. I am looking for a UTV and had pretty much narrowed things down to a Prowler, Ranger or Teryx. All seem like good machines and will meet what I'm looking for. Mainly a vehicle to cruise off-road with the family - most of it fairly mild trails that are easily passable by any 4 wheel drive truck etc and putzing around the neighborhood as well.
I was found a couple of very nice Prowlers for sale locally and was ready to pull the trigger. Before doing so, I talked to someone local who does ALOT of fabrication of full rollbars, seats etc for UTV's. He is not a big fan of the Prowler and indicated it is very top heavy and prone to rollover; feels unstable when turning etc. He recommended staying away from them.
I've searched extensively and can't find anything about Prowlers being more prone to this than any other UTV or any concerns about this from anyone. Would love to get everyone's input on if you feel this is a legitimate concern or perhaps just this individuals personal preference. Thanks in advance!

It depends, do you need more than two seats? The Razor S would be first pic but if you need to haul more or more seating the Teryx or the Rhino would be my next. I don't see tons of after market products available for the Prowler yet.
Are we camping yet?

Thanks. Should have mentioned that. Yes- more than 2 seats are a requirement so a Razor is out for me.

I would say that any of them are easy enuf to tip over. Just have to be smarter than the machine and ride with in your comfort zone.
My self, I own a Rhino, but if it was between the Prowler, Ranger or Teryx I would say Teryx.
It seems the Prowler is having trouble with rearends and the Ranger is more of a work machine.
I have not heard anything bad about the Teryx (yet) and its more sporty than the others and is still ideal for a rear seat and extended roll cage.
Just wondering if you thought about the Rhino?
Best of luck with your choice, keep us posted on what you get.

Rhino or Teryx would be my choice! Rhino a proven machine and there isa lot of aftermarket parts available - I enjoy mine. Friend of mine had a Teryx that he jumped all the time and did everything in Moab full throttle - nothing broke - I was impressed. Prowlers seem to be having axle and other problems. Ranger kind of big for my taste, but a proven machine. 2 cents please

For your needs, a ranger XP hands down for more then two passengers, the others are not set up for more then two and the ranger XP is by fare more stable then the others period, just look at all the legal stuff going on with the rhinos and i have driven them and believe it is true from what i have seen, it is just a fact, never had a problem keeping up to somewhat modified rhinos and i have never put mine on its side or roof like they have, would you trust a family member in the back of a UTV rated at less then 500 lbs capacity or would you rather have them in the back of a UTV rated at 1000 lbs capacity, it is your choice :!: .
