Re: Polaris Ranger XP 2005 Cooling Question

This is my first time here at this forum. I have a 2005 Polaris Ranger XP 700 I purchased used. I had the dealer go over it and it runs great. However, I noticed when riding around our rural mountain development that is hilly. The seat feels very warm and the electric fan kicks on alot for cooling even when moving. Is this normal ? The coolant levels are fine . Just want to make sure everything is ok. Thanks so much !

Re: Polaris Ranger XP 2005 Cooling Question

That is normal, the fan always comes on and off and the seats aways get warm and some people add extra insulation to the seat, the 2005 rangers also ran leaner then the others and that is due to the ECU that year, when I upgraded to the sportsman ecu it helped it a lot due to the richer fuel curve, one last thing if you can get the front end up around a 45 degree angle and loosen the cap sometimes the air needs to be purged out of the cooling system that is trapped in the engine.

Thank you so much ! I'll try putting it on the 45 degree to make sure all the air is purged out. I may also look into an ECU upgrade like you did. big_smile
