Re: 08 Ranger Crew idle problems

Hey all, new member here and I've got one for you! I have an 08 Ranger Crew with the 700 EFI. I'm having idle problems with it. I've adjusted the TPS a few times, but it's still idling rough and doesn't want to start up with out holding the gas pedal down a little. How do you properly adjust the TPS and Idle adjustment? It's currently idling (after warming up) around 830 RPM's. I've checked and changed the plugs several times already and they were black & wet if that makes sense. Any ideas will help tremendously. thanks in advanced.

Re: 08 Ranger Crew idle problems

One thing you will need to do is check all the pins at the TPS connector, they have been known to break close to the pins and Polaris has replacement parts for this, the other thing is you may have a bad TPS sensor all together as well and need to test it to make sure that with a meter that when you open and close the throttle body that the voltage from high and low is very consistent as you open and close it, also get some CRC mass air flow sensor cleaner and clean out that sensor real good and test for vacuum leaks around the intake with card cleaner, here is the post on the TPS adjustment i did some months back, and good luck big_smile .
