Has anyone else experienced this situation: my ranger 500 runs fine for 5-10 minutes and then bogs downs and stalls. There is a strong smell of gas, the ranger won't start for at least 5 minutes. The problem comes back again, same thing, runs okay for 5-10 minutes then bog down and quits. I've checked the fuel pump, seems to pump fuel adequately, I've changed the fuel filter, no help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a float problem in the carburetor. Pull the carp and check the float stopper and adjust the float. Make sure the carb is clean before you reinstall it.

I was leaning toward the carb. Thanks for your input, I'll have a chance this weekend to pull the carb and clean and check the float. I'll let you know if it works
