Re: RZR S Info Please

I am in the process of buying a rzr s. I have been looking for any info on the AWD system. I can see that it will perform good in sand. But i will also use my rzr s for mud rideing to. I have not seen any info on how the rzr s performs in the mud.

Re: RZR S Info Please

The RZRs runs the same 4x4 system as the other Polaris UTVs. There is single wheel and then 2 wheel lock and then AWD lock. The AWD locks in when the system senses a slippage between the front and the rear wheels when the AWD button is engaged. This all happens in a micro second and it will stay engaged till it feels like it is not needed anymore. To be honest it is a great system and you would not notice any issues in the mud or sand because it works so quickly. My ranger and i have been in the sand and the mud as well as rock climbing and it never was out of full lock at any given point in reverse or forward gear. The great thing about it is that it is continuous duty and you can leave the switch on all the time on dirt trails and it will return to two wheel drive when there is no slippage and you will not waist your HP pushing four wheels at that time because it will be only sending it to two wheels for high speed full power straight aways. It will engage into four wheel on cornering. The last thing it will save you wear and tear on the drive line and will save a little fuel compared to a full time Four wheel system. I hope this answers your question....
