Rick Whiteside is the northern VP for U4WDA and has been involved in the planning for this event.
I can't stress the importance of this event enough. If there is only one thing you can do this year to help protect your access to public lands, this is it. We must have a huge crowd to make it a success. A goal of 10,000 people has been set. We need this number in order to receive attention from the national media.
The purpose of this rally is to show the politicians that we are out here and care about what is happening. We have to let the politicians on the State level to know that the public wants them to stand up and do something.
The State has failed to fufill their duties to help the local governments stand up for their property rights. An example would be Canaan Mountain Sawmill road. Washington County will assert their claim to this road, but without the State's involvement, the County doesn't have a very good chance of succeding in federal court.
We also have to get the attention of politicians on the federal level. We have to let them know that we don't appreciate our State being run by politicians who have probably never even been here and have no idea of what's going on, along with radical special interests group who run the land management agencies through lawsuits in the federal courts. In order to keep America's Red Rock Wilderness Act from passing, we need to show legislators from different parts of the country that this is not a popular bill and make it into a hot potato issue like gun control.
USA-ALL is leading the efforts and planning of this event. There are many groups involved from Full Size 4WD, Horseman, Snowmobilers, single trackers, ATVers, Oil and Gas, and others I've failed to mention. We need everyone to promote the event and attend. The primary responsibility from the Full Size 4WD folks (U4WDA and Member Clubs) is to volunteer to assist with Crowd Management the day of the event during the Parade phase. The Utah Highway Patrol will provide this service at the Capitol. I'm working with a half dozen volunteers on the planning committee. If you have any questions please email me at unlimitedrubicon@gmail.com.
If you can help out the day of the event please send me you contact information (name, email, phone#) we need 50 to 75 volunteers just for crowd management.
Currently we have our permit from the city of Salt Lake for the parade route in hand. We are working many of the logistics and promoting. If anyone would like flyers or posters to hang in businesses I will get them to you. The best place for information is takebackutah.org or direct your questions to me. Best to reach me by email, see above.
Hope this answers some of the questions. Two other contacts on the planning committee are:

Please do...the parade will be fun and it sounds like there will be a large crowd.
We need anyone and everyone to show up so our public officials know we really do care.
Tree huggers always get big crowds so that is why over the years they get noticed more than us.
PLEASE SHOW UP

I was glad to see a mixed group with the oil workers, ranchers and others all together. I think the more united we are the more powerful we become. I am sorry I missed it, having less than 1% of the offroad registered vehicles in this state supporting this is a disturbing sign  . Hopefully we all do our part to save our rights to our land before the feds take it away.

Overall it was a good turnout. As long as the crowds keep getting bigger for each event maybe they will realize we are not the silent majority anymore...
