Re: New Ranger Heat (Flesh Burn) Issues?

Remember, 140 Hp is useless if everything around it wont hold together. You may need a friend with a Polaris to go with you to tow you back to base camp lol .

Ha!! ya, no kidding!! I am a polaris fan to the core but am open to other options (no garbage though) and by all accounts, the Rousch seems to be on the tipping point. It looks good in pictures though..  but ya, looks wont get you from A to B time after time..

Re: New Ranger Heat (Flesh Burn) Issues?

I just bought my 09 Ranger XT and I have to say, the heat from under the dash is HOT!!!!!!!!!  I'm in Arizona and you don't need that heat when out in 95-100 degree heat as it is.  Will be very anxious to see how they solve it.  I want that kit when it comes out.

Re: New Ranger Heat (Flesh Burn) Issues?

Bust out the tin and make your own heat deflector. Chances are it will be better than something mass produced and will cost you alot less in the long run. You might even bitch to polaris and try and work a freebie out of them as they know this problem exist. Good luck.

This is apparently what they added to the 2010 and should be upgradeable to the 2009 per Polaris and PRC.

Re: New Ranger Heat (Flesh Burn) Issues?

I bought an 09 Ranger XP a few weeks ago and a friend of mine bought a 2010 XP.  We have both experience tremendous heat coming from between the seat and the motor case to the point of actually burning the skin on our legs while riding in shorts.  We live in AZ., so it's shorts of course!  I know that Polaris HQTRS is aware of the problem because my dealer called them to see if they would correct it under warranty or recall.  "No" was their answer.  Mostly they refuse to admit a problem, but they do offer an under the dash kit and a seat seal kit for a total of $150.  I won't be refering anymore friends to buy a Ranger until they fix this problem.  If anyone asks how I like my Ranger, I tell them about the heat issue.

Re: New Ranger Heat (Flesh Burn) Issues?

As of now Polaris corporate has not Admitted to the problem but has Added upgrades that has cut down the heat on the 2010 models except for a gasket kit that some dealers have given to buyers of 2010 models and some 2009 models. Yes i will agree to that Polaris needs to do something and they should. I also think they should give me an 800 to replace my 2005 because mine came with a 700 and it should have come with the 800 to begin with. But then i am just joking on the last statement  lol . But then again there is the broken sway bar issue and the lean condition of the 2005 model that melts the seat and the front ball joints that go out on the 2005 and 2006 models and remember that the rhino has a bit of a roll over problem as well. none of which i have complained about at all in the past. Every UTV has its good and bad points and there is always going to be something to complain about regardless of manufacture   :!:  roll .

Thats the truth of it in a nutshell.

Has anyone tryed to put a small 12 volt fan under the seat to blow the heat out the back? Rhinos dont have a big problem with heat but I was going to try this next year when I tow my mower just to help the engine run a little cooler.
