Re: What I hate about my Polaris Ranger 700 XP

Ok, so I haven't bought one . . . yet!  I am interested in the down side of them and what are the regrets?

I test drove one the other day and felt like the front of my foot was trying to bend back and touch the front of my leg it was so uncomfortable on the accelerator.  When asked about it, the sales buy mentioned that accelerator placement was the #1 negative comment he got about the Ranger XP's.

Have others had this challenge and or how have you delt with it?

Any and all comments are apprecited as I try and sell myself.  Thanks in advance!!

Well it sounds like you have your mind all made up already before you asked the question so go buy what you want from another manufactures, I personally have no issues with it about what you are complaining about and i am 6'2" at 290 lbs:!: So don't complain about something that you don't own   :!:. It is that plane and simple  ......

Re: What I hate about my Polaris Ranger 700 XP

First time I drove one that was the first thing I noticed . That and the engine brake .
After a while you don't notice it anymore . On the plus side the ride is better than other's I've been on .
It takes some getting used to .

I may have been a little ruff on you Ranchodms but the way you posted the subject and the thread made me think you were here to complain and not here to ask a question and i am sorry for that  . It is easy to miss interpret writing stiles sometimes. I have driven almost all models since 2004 and i personally have not had a problem with the peddle location but that is me. Good Luck on whatever you chose and welcome to the forum smile .

Re: What I hate about my Polaris Ranger 700 XP

Thanks guys, didn't really want to cause a stir, but I have done all my research and had talked myself in to buying one almost, but was really interested in learing the 'buyers remorse' things.  It has happened to all of us, 'I wish I would have known that before I bought', that is what I was really looking for and the 'hate about my XP' was meant to try and learn those things.  The list of how cool and good it is are things I've learned, and like a lot, just wanted to try and learn more about the 'oh, and then there's that' type stuff.  Make sense?  RangerDale XP, fully understand, I didn't come to bitch, just do additional research, no harm, no foul, no blood, no ambulance, fully understand where your coming from.

If others and / or any of you have any of the buyers remorse, I would sure like to hear it, thanks again!

Re: What I hate about my Polaris Ranger 700 XP

Well my 2005 has been working without any issues since 2005 and has done everything from 100 mile round trips to hill climes to working hard on my friends property hauling 600 lbs of firewood in the bed while pulling 1000 lbs of trailer and firewood up and down hills and it never broke down once, It is very well taken care of and i will have it till i buy a new one around 2013 or 2014 if there still around and it will be a Ranger HD for sure next time....

Re: What I hate about my Polaris Ranger 700 XP

The Ranger Xp's are the least likely to do a roll over due to there wider stance and suspension and center of gravity, they are way more stable then the others because of that. The standard RZR is well known to tip over if not operated properly as well as the rhino and i have driven them all, I was very impressed with the RZR-S though. I have not driven the arctic cats so i cant speak for them but would think they are closest to the Ranger Xp's because of there wider stance as well. Any UTV or ATV can be dangerous if handled in an unsafe way......

Re: What I hate about my Polaris Ranger 700 XP

I love my 09 Ranger and have no regrets about buying it.  No problems to date except a little excessive heat from under the dash.  My dealer says he can fix that the next time I bring it in.  I do all of my own maintenance so it may be awhile till I get in there.  It is very easy to work on.  I have been up and down some real nasty hills and rocks and I haven't even been close to a roll over.  Your wife can feel very safe in a Ranger, just use common sense that's all.  I was like you when I was looking for a SxS.  I test drove them all and eliminated all but the Prowler and the Ranger.  I liked them both, except I have been reading about some Prowler issues, both with their warranties, ability to get parts and reports of non-warranty coverage of clutches, etc.   some overheating problems as well.  Figured I'd wait and see if they get them worked out.  In the meantime, I bought a Ranger XP 700.  It has done everything I have asked of it.

Great post and completely agree  :!: . I know a lot about Polaris Rangers but you have come up with a model I never heard of before  :?: . It shows on your other posting and on your profile that you own a Ranger XT and after doing a search there is none listed on the Polaris home web site and the one that i found searching on the web was a guy driving one in a video with XP emblems on it other then Ranger XT emblems on it  :?: . So what gives  :?: . Is it a typo or what is the difference between an XT and an XP  :?: . An inquiring mind wants to know  :?:  ....

In all my excitement, It was a mispell.  Should be XP, I used to own a Can Am HO MAX XT so that is probably where it came from.
