i cant remember what i ran the first day of the rally 1 1/2 ago. it was the one up a little further then moab rim and on the west side of the ride.
has anybody ever ran "behind the rocks" on a sidexside???
i like hells revenge and fins and things and always like that as a welcome to moab ride thats allot better then starting out on poision spider with everybody.
heres what i think
friday
hells revenge - fins and things
saturday
semi extreme day
golden spike to the crack or a new trail like behind the rocks
sunday
relax day or short day
possible run on moab rim.
i dont think you would want to plan to do poision spider to the crack then over golden spike. we did that one time and it was a long day and alot of miles. i think you would be better off doing it out and back from either side. I havent done golden spike for a few years but really enjoyed that trail and think it is a little easier on the body/machine then the start of poision spider.
i guess i am in going to bring my fiance with me and problay cousin wes i hope. it will be my bachelor weekend since i am getting married on the 21st of november.
lets talk trails!!!!!
i would like to do golden spike out to the crack one day. wouldnt mind trying behind the rocks or some other new trail.
is that uea??? i know that is mormon holiday and i am planning on being down there
Awesome news! I also got a phone call from the local country radio station in moab yesterday. They want to come down and do some live radio coverage of the event.
thats it i am staying home now
here are some pics joe sent me
joe going big
the weather was "PERFECT"
hey lets see some of thoose pics.
you can email me the good ones and i will upload them

well we had another awesome trip
and once again i broke my rzr the first day. i bent a tie rod doing nothing major, we straightened it and then went out and took it easy and bent it again doing nothing hard. made it 2/3 of the day then we limped back to the trailer.
the next morning we sleeved the tierod with a plumbing pipe and we where good to go.
time for some pics.
The sand virgin Joe
the bent tie rod
Jumping pics
this is the local ranger jumping
a jump series of mine
general crawling
scenic pics
ok now the next series is a crack that we havent named. it was pretty nasty and a little bigger then what a rzr should do
i think they changed the gen 2/3 a little
i have a gen 2 that i was able to install a odessy 925 with very minor modification. it fit in the factory box
i would recomend a kawasaki teryx
HUNTING and hauling ok right there you will not want a rzr because it is very limited in the cargo. i owned a rhino and a rzr at the same time. when hunting i drove the rhino and left the rzr home.
the teryx would be a excellent machine. it is the best engine out there right now. it is really sporty for a utility based machine. the stock suspension is also the sportest of the utlity based machines.
here locally we have dealers selling the 08's for less then $8000 the 08's are carb and the 09's efi but i wouldnt be afraid to buy a 08 is it worth 2-3 thousand more for efi??
second choice would be a rhino great machine just not as sporty as a teryx
third choice would be a ranger xp, its big and can haul ALOT of stuff but hey its big
update
many people saw and heard my awesome front diff in moab
drop it off at the dealer they took it apart and found this
the center plastic part of the diff just exploded.
this same part is still used in the rzr s
dragon fire makes a replacement piece and it is alluminum and should never break
once again the rzr's just are not built well enough for the amount of power and speed they make. all the other sidexsides are utility based and handle alot more abuse.
i would recomend only using 2wd on a rzr if you drive it like a sport machine. then use 4wd when you need it.
ok last topic is way off course. this one is for the pics and vids only
Top of Poison Spider Mesa on Day 1
Ryan, Dave, and Chris on the same obstacle
Kyle calls the "carb specialist" to see what the hell he did to his carb
Time for a little trail tuning
Jared takes Chris' RZR for a spin and impresses the machine with his skills
My input.
What view?
Hells revenge group day 2, I'd say we had fun.
Hide and go seek???Thats all for now. Plenty more to come.
What a fantastic trip!
The weather couldn’t have been better for a mid November romp in the rocks.
Thanks to everyone who made it such a great weekend. Thanks again to Redman for the ride in the “S”.
I should have never gone, because now I REALLY WANT ONE!!!!Here are my pictures & videos to add to the mix.
Let’s do this again soon!
A couple pictures from Day 2 on Fins and Things and Hells Revenge
Sara and Gavin patiently wait to get started
Ryan and Cassandra run up Rocky Hill
Michelle aka Rock Queen takes her turn and crawls right up
Jack MEOFF makes it look easy
Heading into Hells Revenge
More bad weather and lousy scenery
The group gathers at the overlook on Hells Revenge for lunch
Larry coming up Hells Gate, picture makes it look pretty flat
Brad gets out of shape pulling Hells Gate
I sense some anxiety
Happy and relaxed at the top
Here's what happens when you take an in-experienced driver on Pritchet Canyon:

I'll eventually get to the videos as I get time.
Chris
you have a pm
it is the +4 kit
the biggest pain is the axles. but i would recomend running gorilla axles in the rear atleast. i have a extra set of brand new ones i need to sell.
the brake lines are the next hard thing. but overall the rear axle suck to do according to there instructions.
i wonder if polaris will get off there butts and sell there s kit for owners to install on there standard rzrs
so the dealer called.
i am getting a brand new front diff turns out i damaged enough stuff they are replacing the whole thing. this wasnt new damage from this last weekend it was from my 700 miles of nice easy freeway miles
