Dang nice!! Congrats are surely in order. See ya in Moab.
Sweet...looking forward to trying it out (assuming I am back up and running for the rally) :-)
You better be. Were looking forward to seeing you and meeting your wife.
Definitely interesting...or at least different from what were used to. The choice of green paint is awesome...I like. The shape of the cage and the weird shocks leave something to be desired IMO. (Thinking it has more of a Dune Buggy look than the traditional SxS) Regardless, competition is good. More choices are good. For the Polaris fans, this can only make their offerings even better. Since it's competition is the RZR S/XP and Can Am, I'm sure it will perform well.
It won King of the Hammers. This speaks volumes if you've seen any of the video footage. To get more input, look up 'FJK' on RZRForums.net. He was one of the first to get an XP and has accumulated a lot of hours in it in various terrains. Additionally, seems that there are a bunch of folks in the midwest that are testing it on the trails and seem to like it too. However, being 64" wide it will have it's limitations. On the other hand, it should do great everywhere else. Time will surely tell all.
Anyone planing a trip to Moab (preferred), Little Sahara or St.George. Haven't had the RZR since November and have a need to go play and want some company?
Pending decent weather, we'll be doing Little Sahara within a couple weeks.
BTW, it may be this weekend. Weather.com is advertising 50+ degrees this weekend (Sat & Sun).

Looks great Dave! Fun is just around the corner waiting for us to try that out. Can't wait.
I am very impressed!
Not only a significantly more powerful motor, but reengineering the drive train to minimize horsepower losses is a very good move.
I suspect that all things being equal, you would have to make a little over 100 horsepower with a RZR S to have the same power to the wheels as this new machine at 88 horsepower. It's all about efficiency, and getting the power to the wheels. On the one hand, I can see the extra 4.5 inches of wheelbase being a big improvement to the stability when rock crawling. (Similar to a RZR 4, but without the turning radius drawbacks of the RZR 4 in the tight spots)
On the other, I can see the trailing arms dragging over some of the more extreme obstacles.
I'm sure someone is going to make some UHMW protectors for those arms, and It shouldn't be an issue.I am excited to see these things in action, I'm sure they are going to be very impressive.
My current needs more lean toward a RZR-4, and I am disappointed that they didn't make a RZR 4 XP.

I also don't foresee them doing that very soon (If ever)
Looks like I am going to be in the market for a RZR 4, and will be talking to Aerocharger to give it the power I will need it to have.Props to Polaris! They own the sport SXS market!
They certainly own the sport SxS market. After seeing more of the details...I also like it a lot. I can see one of these in my garage down the road sometime. I personally like the white one.
Polaris took 5 XPs to Glamis yesterday. Sounds like the opinions of it were very positive...even from those with turbo S models.
Well whatcha think???
To each their own, but what I've heard so far doesn't classify as a new class of sxs in my book. Regardless, I doubt there are many that will be disappointed by more power, ground clearance and suspension changes. It still makes for a really nice improvement. I think Polaris is building what many of us want. However, I'm interested in learning more about all the specs...weight, tire size, etc. Price?
I am very sorry to hear about the loss of this mans daughter.
I can't begin to imagine how hard it would be to loose a child. We would all do well to double our efforts to be sure we are teaching our children and friends responsibility when operating or even riding in these machines as a passenger.
It does make me wonder though why there was not one mention in the letter of the drunk driver who was allegedly driving this machine when the accident happened. Drunk and reckless driving was apparently the true issue here. Furthermore, if the manufacturer’s warnings had been heeded and common sense would have been used, this man’s daughter might still be here today
It seems to me that this letter should have been about drunk and reckless driving.
While maintaining respect for this man's daughter, well said Zrated.
I just want a solid machine that won't break when I use it offroad. Polaris needs to focus on a reliable powertrain that won't fail before adding more power to it.
A machine that wont break when you use it offroad?
Ummm.... have you seen the way you drive!?!

ha ha ha....
I think you're right. If we're going to offroad it...we'll need to spend some money to upgrade it. Simple common sense says, whether it be a Jeep or serious rockcrawler at Moab or a sand rail at the dunes...if you want to play, you have to pay. Nothing factory stock, made by anyone, will take this abuse forever. However, I am surprised by the factory use of plastic drivetrain parts. If there's a joke in the manufacture of the RZR, that's it.
I'm anxiously awaiting to see what Polaris comes out with. I hope it's not another let down similar to the other manufacturers that Badley spoke of.
We are looking at taking a week in the middle of January in the Las Vegas area and want to take the Rzr. We have never riden in that area before. If you had at least four days to be out in the country what trails or areas would be on your "should do" list?
Your help is appreciated.
Logandale trails/the Valley of Fire. Awesome for the RZR. Take your camera.
There are many places to ride. While I have a good time anywhere I go, the mountains are by far my favorite. Your pictures have me itching to go to Idaho to camp and ride. Maybe next year. Thanks for sharing.
MORE POWER!! Weber motor?
A Weber would be awesome!
I would suspect so. However, I hope they don't try to mimic the CanAm, but rather build upon the RZR platform to obtain a meaningful improvement. A bigger engine and a few tweaks to support some additional power would be a really good start.
