dond't dthink I can do that one.  I have that week long trip planned for Oct 24 and beyond.  The disadvantage of early retirement is limited funds sad for todays high gas prices.
I will watch the site for further opportunities to ride with you folks.  Looking forward to it.

U bet smokem.  Old age does have it's advantages.  The wife isn't into riding and she has her interests that I can't handle.    So I am free to go about anytime I have the bucks for fuel.
I retired in Jan and am just finishing up my shop in the back of my property.  final thing is th electric. Hope to have that done next week.
I am going to Dumont for a week nl ate October but would love to meet some folks at Moab.
So to summerize, just about any time is good for me.

That's a possibility.  If the time works out and you folks don't mind me tagging along.  I haven't been there either. I could plan the trip to Piaute for nest season.  Retirement offers it's benefits?B^

Sounds good to me. Let me know what you guys decide.  I'm free at any time except the week of the 24th of Oct thru Haloween.

Just curious. Do you guys just do day trips because of your location? I have two options, come with my toy hauler and try to stay in it at night or take the small trailer and plan on roughing it at night on the trail.
In the trailer it only takes me an hour to get out of bed and if I rough it it could be noon before I could get moving around. lol
I'm think of finding a place to park the trailer for the start and end of a particular trail and then moving to do the same the next day. Is that possible or practical.
Thanks,
Pat

Guys, keep me posted on what could happen.  I am going to Dumont Oct 24th and staying there until Sunday of Halloween weekend. I know we are pressed for time so keep me in the loop. Hopefully there are others that might want to be involved too.
Thanks,
Pat

I noticed that the fuel line runs right next to the head on my 06.  I'm not sure if the fuel pump would have anything to do with Vapor lock, if indeed that is what it is. The pump will pump the fuel to the carb and then sit there under pressure until the engine needs it. I would try rerouting the fuel line and insulating it with aluminum foil and see if that might help.  I am in vegas and have had no issue with anything like vapor lock myself,
Just an idea.

According to available information this would have to be a several day trip.  The time of the year is limited to see it all.  It is far to remote to ride it alone.  I have wanted to go for over a year. I guess late July thru October is prime time. Anybody interested?  Check out the ATVUtah.com site for information. I will be taking my Rhino and can't go on the ATV trails marked 50" only.
Thanks

Personnaly I am going to leave everything else stock.  Not going to spend any more money on power up grades.  I figured that the carb would be a tuning nightmare.  If I want to go faster I will buy another rail and enjoy the Rhino for trail riding off the sand or tinkering around the dunes..
Have a good day.

I have to assume that you are at a higher altitude to require a smaller jet. My stock 660 came with a 145 main jet.  That along with the reduced air flow becayse of the added restriction of air flow throygh that long of a hose.
I did go back to totally stock on my intake and it runs fine now.  I found a carb that Eldebrock makes for the Rhino that would allow the changes I origionallly wanted to do.  It doesn't have the vacum requirement but costs $ 403.00. That out of my price range. Then it's $3-400 for the muffler and that's a single. So stock it will be.

Thanks for the responce.  I will check out the guide, I already have the cool map.   Sept 16th, one day only? How many units are coming and how do I get  more info.  Not that far from Vegas.  It would be my first real trip since I retired in Jan of this year.
Thanks again.

I've wanted to do this ride for over a year.  Sounds to good to be true with all the area closures especially for side by sides.
Input appreciated....

Thanks.
I never got that far to change the air. Luckily I just happened on that article.  I am going back to stock settings today and forgetting the idea that an aftermarket muffler that is to  loud is the answer for me. The air box goes back on today too and I'm off to Checker to see what their pollllllicy is on returning special order parts>>>>>Ha Ha Ha.  Anybody want to buy the K&N????
It will go  on my trophy shelf........Lesson learned.  "Don't mess with Mother Nature" !!!!

"The moment you start hacking up your stock air box and adding inlets in different areas, you will disturb the air flow dynamics and tuning of your intake system.  Once you carelessly disturb that delicate balance, then you can have problems with carburetor tuning and engine performance". Taken from the article on the link below.

I'm pretty sure I've got the same problem by putting on the K&N in the manner I did. Eliminating the air box  No restriction=less vacum signal

This could be the reason that I am having trouble getting top end after my intake change. It's all about vacum signal as I read it.  Back to the drawing board.
