does anyone have big gun exhaust? if so can you tell me how to install it? or post some pics?
Offline
You will need to remove the bed and make sure you keep all your old hardware, you may need to reuse some of it for the new install, I can not give full accurate info because i have never used a big gun system but all systems are about the same when you install them, They should all use the factory mounting points and should all go on real easy, Remember you should use a fuel controller with all these the systems due to the fact that it will make the engine run a little lean and you will not get the full benefit of the system with out it, PM grant22 because he can tell you everything you may run into with the swap out and should be able to help, He has his exhaust on and off a few times but I do not think it was a big gun system, Just follow the instructions and it should not be that hard to do .

Mine was the FMF offered by Pure Polaris. Listen to Ranger Dale when he says to keep all your old stuff....you never know when you might want to put it back on.
My FMF did not require removing the bed. If yours does, though, you are in luck. The bed aint that tought to remove.
Also, listen to Dale regarding the fuel controller. I used an upgraded filter and exhaust but at the time, have not added a fueler or clutch kit (both of which you should do). It was running too lean and there was NO performance gain that I could tell. SOOOOOOOO, I put the original exhaust back on and have decided to start using the new generation stock air filter with an outerwear on it (for now). I have been having good results (and believe me, I drive that thing faster than I should!)

Found this on a another site with some pictures, To gain the whopping 4 HP you will need the fuel controller to make there claimed horse power :!: , I would also get an air fuel ratio gage set also to set the fuel controllers fuel ratio curve to around 13:1 to 13:5 under power and 14:1 to 14:7 at idle so you don't have to smell it after it is warmed up at idle , here is the site with the pictures below and some other exhaust testing, good luck with your modification .

Is the bodec tfi a good one?
Offline
To be honest I can not recommend one that i have not heard of before, The best ones and proven ones for the polaris are the power commander and the boonedocker, You need to watch what you get because there is a lot of junk out there, I you lived in montrose California you could go to dynatech directly and pick one up, powercomander is out of las vegas NV, let me think on this a little more since you are in colorado and maybe i can come up with something.

I ment dobec

Dobeck should work, It is not as precise as the other two in setting up the fuel curve but will work, It just will not tune as nearly as well at all the RPM ranges and will leave some lean zones in the fuel map.

Thanks. i just want something for now to keep everything working. then when i get an a/f guage i want to get the power cammander i think. Thanks for all your input.

The powercomander is the best one, You can really tune well with it and watch what is happening on the AF gauge, The AF gauge takes all the guess work out, The powercomander has some stock presets that get you in the ball park, Make sure when you get the dobeck you ask them for there switch presets to get you started.

Will they come pre programmed at all? or am I gonna have to set it?
Offline
They all will need some tuning, the powercomander can run different fuel maps with the LCD display models, It is the best for more precise tuning, The boonedocker is a close second but it is way easier to use and they could help with the base setting when you buy from them, The AF gauge is what will make sure you do not mess things up and from what i see powercomander now has a model that has a AF gauge built into it but I need to look at it more and not sure if it is available for Polaris yet. Remember I did not see Dobeck listing a EFI unit for the 800 EFI It looks like they are all comeing out with new and improved models this year and i need to look at what has changed my self :?: .
