Just finished cleaning and servicing the XP's and found the engine cover behind the right seat on Mary's machine has a melted spot where the cover touches the exhaust pipes. Mine shows some heat on the insulation but no melting, going to call the dealer and Polaris tomorrow, it seems they are aware of the problem with others and are working on a fix. Will keep you posted ronk

I noticed there are some aftermarket companies already selling a heat shield for that very problem. Good luck with the Polaris and the dealer Ron. Let us know how it turns out.
I guess guess Mary was pushing hers harder than you

I’ve been reading about this issue.
Sounds like there is an easy fix though.
Other than that, these machines have virtually had no first run problems that I know of.
All and all I have to say, well done Polaris!

Just heard from dealer; new covers should be on their way Fri. Not really a big problem and doesn,t make the machine inoperable, just a minor inconvienience. I definitely was not bashing Polaris as I am extremely happy with the machine. ronk
