Is a clutch kit install fairly simple or do you need some specialty tools? Would a service manual be necessary for that kinda work?

It is really easy to do at least on a Ranger xp, Not sure on the rzr because of the way the engine is installed, If you have free access to the primary and secondary clutch cover it will go real easy, i do not remember what may be in the way on that unit but it has the same parts, You will need a puller for the primary clutch if you remove it, The secondary just slips off but may needs a compression device to help pull the locking clip off and to re install it, you could make one easy but i had something i use for transmission overhauls that worked for me, all in all i could do a ranger Xp in less then an hour and is really well worth it. I can give you more detailed info when you are ready and you tell me what kit you go with. remember when ordering one you need to look at what elevations you run most and tire size, this is very important :!:

Thanks Ranger Dale. For the clip, would a pair of C-clip pliers work? Also, where would you buy the Puller?
The access to the two sheeves is very easy and accessible....that won't be the problem. I'm just thinking if I do this one time, is it worth buying the specialty tools or just have a local pro do the work?

I got my puller from EPI and it is part number PCP-12, you may be able to do the primary clutch without removeing it, it just makes it a lot more easy, they also sell a compression tool for the driven clutch and it is part number CCT510 but i think one can be made much more easily for the cost, you will need the C-clip pliers as well as a small torque wrench, The RZR kit should come with a Helix depending on the kit also, also remember the RZR driven clutch is a little more involved then the XP's system but still is rather easy to do. as for the cost for the shop to do it that is up to you, they may charge a couple hundred dollars in labor plus parts. I believe to know your machine is to do the work your self, but that all depends on how mechanically skilled you are also.

I would call him since every manufactures kits are somewhat different and he would know a good baseline for his kit if you tell him what you have and plan to do.....
