I got a new HD the other day and have only gotten to ride it one weekend. That was long enough to know that it needed more power. 0 to 30 mph is fair, but 30 to 50 sucks. I ordered larger tires for it today. What I wanted to know is what were the best mods to put on it to increase my horsepower? Exhaust, programmer, cdi, etc? From what I hear a programmer can make alot of difference. Could anybody suggest the best one to go with? As far as the exhaust goes I don't want something super loud because I use my HD mainly for hunting. Please help!!!

There is no programmer that will add much more power on a stock machine and to run a bigger tire size you will need a clutch change. You did not mention what year it was so i will guess it is a 2010 with the 800 engine :?: The first thing i would do is replace the EFI intake boot and install the one used for the XP version because of the restrictor and then remove the limiter spacer in the primary clutch when you get the kit to reprogram the clutch system for the bigger tires and altitude. Unless you replace the cam and do a exhaust system do not waist the money on the ecu  . Polarises do not respond as well as some other manufactures in this area and is a waist of money on a stock engine...
PS this was placed in the wrong thread so i moved it to where it should have been posted......

I'll let you know how the supercharger works out.
I am keeping the stock muffler, or at least one that is no louder than stock.
Where are you located?
I hear MPI wants to do a second supercharger on a less modified machine, and take a bunch of installation pictures.

This is my first post here so hi to all. I have a 2010 Ranger 800HD. What is actually different from an 800 HO and the standard engine in the HD, I would like to have the HO power in my HD.

From other post.
Remove the restrictor plate at the throttle body. All 2010 Ranger Xp's also have a clutch limiter in the primary and removal of it will gain another 3 to 4 mph as well.....
