This was the very first test to see if we had boost.

The Supercharger is almost complete. The only thing left to do is install the fan on the intercooler & do some fine tuning on the ECM fuel curves. But first it needs to get the clutching done. It just smacks the 7,000 rpm rev limiter at anything over ½ throttle right now. The stock clutching just can’t begin to hold the power.
The Pro Logger looks even better than I had hoped. It is a complete gauge package (Plus allot more) in one box. It is currently monitoring RPM, Boost/Vac, coolant temp, and Wideband 0-2 Air fuel ratios. It is also my understanding that we will data log with this thing as well. Then look at the numbers back at the shop to really fine tune everything.
Soon we will be putting it back on the Dyno. to see how much power we gained.
Stay tuned.

Damn! Looks great Dave. If I had the funds, Mountain Performance would be blowing my Rhino

Finally the dyno results are in!
Mountain Performance tested the stock Ranger 800-XP. Then they installed the new Supercharger package. Then they tested it on the same dyno.
I realize that with CVT drive systems and variables between different dynos, it is harder to get the most consistent numbers, but the before and after numbers on the same dyno is what I am interested in.
Here are the initial results…
Stock:
46 rear wheel Horsepower and 42 foot pounds of Torque.
At 6.5 pounds of boost:
78 Rear wheel Horsepower and 65 foot pounds of Torque
6.5 pounds of boost is an extremely conservative boost number. I have been running 8-9 pounds of boost on my RZR for 3,500 miles with no trouble at all.
I will talk with Heath at MPI about the possibility of running another pound of boost, then doing another Dyno test. If that happens, I will post the results.

So hows is this kit working out still? Seems the youtube videos were erased? Im thinking of turbocharging my ranger but maybe a supercharger will be more reliable.

It has worked pretty well, but I have had all kinds of problems with heat.
Many of the problems are likely because everything is so closed in with the rear seat conversion.
Here are some pics that show all the things I needed to do to protect things from heat.
If I were doing it again, I would probably talk with Aerocharger about the kit they built for the Ranger XP. It looks really well thought out. Marshall Motoart has one on the rig they built for Destination Polaris.

Hmm, doesnt look as a clean set up as I hoped. Might just go turbo. I want more of a steathy look.

Definitely check out the Komodo 500 and Spartan 500 by Chironex - http://www.chironex.ca/?l=e&p=komodo500
Really???
It looked interesting until I saw that they have no US dealers or service locations listed, and if you want to "Contact" them you have to input your information and wait for them to call.

I don't blame ya at all. The word Stealthy doesn't apply to any part of Brutus though... It's about as stealthy as a sledge hammer to the groin.
Yeah, there were plenty of bugs to work out.
That's the problem with prototypes.
The other problem is that to my knowledge, nobody has a "Production" kit of any kind for the Ranger XP 800. (Not even the Aerocharger OR MCX kits that were made for Project X are in production.) (Not enough people are willing to pony up the dough I guess.)
I am extremely pleased with Brutus now, but if I had it to do again, I would have left the engine normally aspirated. Then I would have bought a RZR 4 and installed an Aerocharger Turbo that has already been proven on the application, and is in mass production.
