Re: gas pump on rhino

Went for a ride today, Mikuni pump works perfect! Electric still has me baffled - capped it and will keep as an emergency pump. The Rhino is ready for Moab  big_smile

Which line do you cap off on the new pump have one but can't figure out how to install it any help would be great.

Re: gas pump on rhino

Not sure about the 450 - I thought is was similar to the 660 - fuel pump is not in the tank, it is behind the passenger seat. Vacuum pump.

Re: gas pump on rhino

Other than the fuel pump, I have had no problems with the Rhino. I have had performance issues when I tried to get more power out if it - could never get the jetting just right - ended up right back to stock needle and jets.

Re: gas pump on rhino

A CDI (msd or dynatec) will boost your speed up to about 40 mph. DO NOT mess with the clutch sheave unless you can do the greaseless overdrive weights. I spent more money on clutch parts before settling with a 130. Kit from hunterworks. If you do mess with it talk to Todd at HW for the best advice.

The windshield recommendation is the half or split so when it gets dirty you can still see. They do not clean easily on the trail so the half works best.

The 450 is a good machine and we proved it with the 17500 lb "rhino truck pull" on YouTube.

I have a Curtis cab system on my Rhino. It works well and can be removed in seconds with out any tools. Its worth every penny.

Re: gas pump on rhino

thats an awesome video guys! does the half windshield block a lot of the wind or just give you something to duck behind when driving?

diverts some wind and dust. If you keep it off the dash it will help keep some of the dust out too. With a full windshield you get the dust and you can't see for long either.

Re: gas pump on rhino

so the half windshield will block some air, but i can still duck down behind it if cold? i am thinking of getting the little roll up back window, in the winter that would keep alot of the air from coming back in on me.  i know i am high jacking the thread sorry! how about the soft tops? experiences with them?
