I was hoping to go. Waiting on Ford to fix my truck again and can't pick up my RZR without it. Might be broke after this repair.

If you are paying for these repairs and it is out of warranty , I would suggest looking for a privately owned international diesel mechanic shop to fix that truck instead, Ford dealers do not know there butt from a hole in the ground when it comes to the diesels and charge way to much money  . Every problem I have had with our 2003 was dealer inflected and when I started during the work myself the problems stopped 8) , I had a friend bring his truck to me a year ago that I had to replace his injectors. He was told early on to run his oil changes at 7500 to 10,000 mile intervals and also ran out of fuel once or twice which is real bad on 7.3 and 6.0 injectors. these engines uses injectors that use oil too compress the fuel to 16.000 and 18.000 PSI in the injectors before it is shot into the cylinder. He had been having this truck serviced by ford and not once did they service the EGR valve which should be done every 20.000 to 30.000 miles, It also had also the injector seats replaced when it was new due to fuel leaking into the oil and they never properly torqued all the turbo boots and had one blow off towing a trailer. Anyways I personally do not trust ford when it comes to diesels due to what I have seen with my truck along with the few others I have did work on. there are much better people out there  Just my two cents worth......

Re: St. Anthony Idaho sand dunes Fathers Day Weekend

Fully agree with you Dale. Main reason that it is at this dealership is they have actually fixed and found issues the other dealer wouldn't look at. They are going back to ford on what was noted on the work order when the truck had 1700, 15k and 24k miles. The first one had the same symptom as I had this time. Turbo failure is partially due to not driving it that much too after researching it. International talks about 6.0 issues and how a ford owner should help resolve them.

Not going to make it Jim - had it all worked out. Had to give my tenant the boot and now I HAVE to clean up the house a little this weekend. Next two weeks I am slammed and so it has to be this weekend. Sorry my friend - I am bummed. Bob tells me you may not go because of the weather - is that true?

Same thing here. Ever been without your truck in your garage for two weeks along with your RZR? Someone come get me with their trailer and take me riding.  yikes

Feel guilty highjacking threads. I have a HUGE tendency to go off track.

Anyway Ford denied my turbo, just another 2300 to my 50k truck now. Still cheaper than new, and the mechanic doesn't see much more that could happen except for tranny. Dealer backed up the opinion on other forums that 6.0 and the 6.4 has more repairs unless they are driven a lot. Most with over 100k miles have injector problems due to poor fuel filter maintenance but the EGR coolers and turbo's have less failures.

There is a product called hotshots secret that international uses and recommends. Run a full bottle the first time and then 1/2 bottle every other oil change after. I also always run dieselkleen in the fuel and also have a FS2500 installed to keep the oil clean. At least you have the good injectors because 2003 and early 2004 models have a spring plate that has been known to fail which means I have 5 that could still go at any time. As for the turbo the 2007 model was updated along with the oil lines to correct all its final issues. $2300 is a lot of money for the turbo and RandR. A rebuilt 2007 turbo is around $600 to $700 the last time I checked. Unless your turbo had a part failure, it should have been serviced under Ford Service Bulletin TSB 06-17-1 or international Service Bulletin  #201055 instead of replacing it.....

Re: St. Anthony Idaho sand dunes Fathers Day Weekend

Truck is home again with the rzr now. I wish Ford would handle things as well as Polaris Star warranty did on a new tranny in the Rzr. Filed a BBB complaint on Ford and they called me the next day. We will see how that works out.
