Re: 2008 (last year) - Quartzsite, AZ

I was thinking about putting together a big group ride in Quartzsite, AZ (20 minutes east of Blythe, CA on the Arizona / California border on I-10) in early March.  Anyone interested.  I was there this weekend and the riding was incredible.  So much to see and trails for all levels.  I would lay out 4 big rides for Saturday and Sunday with an early ending on Sunday so people could head home.  Let me know.

Re: 2008 (last year) - Quartzsite, AZ

After some conversations with other Side X Side owners and companies that want to support the ride, it looks like we are going to do this ride.  The format will be two loops (one 50 miles and one 25 miles) on Saturday and one 50 mile loop on Sunday morning.  This will happen March 1st and 2nd and there will be a BBQ Saturday night.  I am contacting the Chamber of Commerce as we speak to get some support and to see if we are breaking any rules.  It is an OHV area and generally they accept off roaders with open arms.  I will keep you posted.

I will certainly keep you posted.  I was there this weekend and I came away with a stunning ride through some canyons, then it poured rain.  I will know this afternoon.

Re: 2008 (last year) - Quartzsite, AZ

Are you guys aware of the GeoGlyphs in Quartzite?

Just to the south of the Shell station there is a large fenced in GeoGlyph that has an arrow
pointing NE toward a pass.  If you ride to that pass there is another Large Geoglyph.

The first GeoGlyph is basically and ancient road sign.

Some interesting info here.

Here is a video I made riding u to Dripping Springs near Quartzite last year.

This sounds like fun. A weekend of camping and wheeling. Keep me posted on the event.
