Re: Moab in November....now

I'm staying at the Super8 on main street.  Chris is too.
I think some others may be as well.

Show up in the parking lot at 7:30 and we can caravan out.

I'll be having a long chat with Moab LEOs in the AM.  Let you
know what I find out.

Re: Moab in November....now

We can do whatever...I'm just there to ride and have fun...I don't want to plan anything. smile I just want to ride these hardest stuff with can find...not into high speed stuff, dunes, sand or stuff I can ride elsewhere. I want to ride big rocks. We didn't have winches for Pritchet, so we turned around after a bit. It would be ideal to have winches and/or good tow strap with some big boys on them to help pull up some of the bigger ledges. But, in you guy's normal fashion, you don't like ropes, so I'll stand there and watch and get some great pics! smile

You might consider a trip out to Area BFE and run Helldorado, not anything I need to do again but if you want the hardest I think this is it, http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=186

Re: Moab in November....now

I dont think we can do helldorado and some of the other stuff in BFE

pritchet is hard enough and i have yet to try it.

remember it is november and will be 30 degrees at night.  I think we should let the sun warm things up a little before we hit the rocks.

I am up for rock racing i mean crawling.  I have riden at white wash dunes before and would rather run the harder stuff in moab.

I am down for either poision spider or golden spike friday.  golden spike has a larger parking lot but we can problay all fit at the spider as well.  but i have a contract with jared that i will not ride unless it is 50 degrees  so i wont be able to leave at 8 am  lol

Re: Moab in November....now

Medium to no brains trail ideas for next weekend
meet at trail heads 9:00 am and try to be in the trail by 9:30

friday
Poision spider Mesa or golden spike,  doesnt matter as long as we get the crack smile  I prefer the ride from the golden spike to the crack but poision spider is fun right from the start.  lets pick one of these two and go for it

saturday
Behind the rocks
I have never riden this trail but hey i have a map and jared is a eagle scout.  this trail isnt as hard as pritchett but has over 8 hard obstacles on it.  also goes by picture arch and for is suppose to be a pretty ride.  it also has a trail for picture arch that we take as a bypass on the way back if we need to make up time or tow my rzr out.

sunday
maybe a short ride like moab rim or something but hey lets be honest I havent made it to day 3 yet with my machine

thats just a idea

we can split the group and do different trails as well.  hells revenge and fins and things are fun as are others.

Re: Moab in November....now

I've done most of fins-n-things and I think Hells Revenge, is that the trail after you go up the "Small Lions Back" right from the parking lot?

I really want to do Moab Rim if my Jeep can do it.

Re: Moab in November....now

Let's get a current head count and see who's in for sure. If the group is still 18 +/- machines it might be wise and break into two groups on Friday. This allows the less experienced to wet their feet before putting them to the fire on Pritchett or Behind the Rocks.

Re: Moab in November....now

Ok... not that I am in charge but lets meet at Poison Spider trail head at 9:00 am Friday and hit the trail at 9:30ish when everyone is ready. I dont think we need to start at 8 as it will still be quite chilly. We will do Poison Spider and move on all the way to the crack.

After we do that ride we can then split off into different rides as people want to for the other days. I would really like to meet up with the entire group for our first ride so we can meet everyone and get some awesome group pictures! Poison Spider can be done by new riders.

Also, each night anyone that wants to meet up for dinner with us is very welcome. We will eat at a different location each night. And on the topic of food, be sure to pack a lunch with you each day and bring plenty of water.  big_smile
