Re: Moab in november???

I doubt highly pismo will be closing anytime soon.

Well i do not have this info first hand but my dad who is glued to the paper and the news every day and night said due to budget issues in Sacramento and cut backs that they are closing it. I personally don't go there any more due to the racket they have going on there but i have many, many friends that still go there. It would be nice if anybody has any information in regards to this without guessing  . As fare as my dad is concerned it is still happening but never kept the news paper articles to show me   roll .

Re: Moab in november???

I'm 15 minutes south of pismo and haven't heard that one yet. I will check into it though. The town there would shrivel up and blow away if they lost pismo. The state park there makes more money than any other state park.

Re: Moab in november???

Well I just found something that said it was being considered but was removed off the list for the time being. But on the other hand i found this thing from saramento listing the closures on the link below. Take note on page 5 of the PDF. The information from my dad was some months ago and things may have changed. this is the first i have looked into it my self. I will also dig a little deeper as well on what changed and where it will go. :?: .

The treehuggers are loving this all over the United States. If the government cannot manage the land due to lack of funding they must close it. Its a great place then to grow your weed. Recently they announced possible trail closures in Tooele county only to have a elk hunter find a weed operation going on.  What is more interesting is the national parks are giving out free passes into the parks this summer on certain days of the week, who is running the governments budget anymore?

If they raised the day use fees the BLM and park managers would not and should not be currently gripping. I just paid the taxes on a 5000.00 enclosed trailer and it was 410.00 to register it.... WHERE DOES IT GO? :?

Re: Moab in november???

I think if all the other agencies would keep there hand out of the parks cookie jar the parks budgets would be fine. They make plenty of money to pay salaries and cover costs. Not much different than our green sticker funds over here in cali. The government sees how much money is in there and then they use it for stuff that doesn't even pertain to ohv's.

Re: Moab in november???

After doing some more research it looks like Pismo dunes has dodged the bullet for now. There is a lot of confusion out there on this and Yamaha even said they were closing it on several sites but then came back and said that they were not closing it. As fare as i can tell the state beach just north of the dunes is still going to be closed. I guess we will see how things go next year on future closures.....
