Thanks! I was wondering how accurate that gauge is anyway? It is installed in a port that is welded on the silencer can. I thought the sensor needed to be closer to the head. I am thinking that I will be safe to leave the jetting alone for now due to the warm weather we are going to have and elevation changes where I ride.

OMG! what a difference. My old top speed is now my crusing speed. I can climb anything and stay in high gear. I never thought it would make this big of difference. I put the cam, clutch, adjustable weights, pipe and airfilter in. I had to go from a 135 main jet to a 140. My Koso gauge now reads 12.4 at full load. I hope I got it jetted correctly. I also had to buy a new battery with more cranking amps due the higher compression. Cant wait to slap the paddles on and head to St. Anthony's!!!  lol

The new Polaris Ranger RZ 800 seems to be the favorite. They fit on most trails and haul ass! If you want something larger that you can put more seats in you should look at the Polaris XP. I have a 2005 Ranger that I bought new and have not had one problem.

I have been to Moab before, I have never been on the trails. Just went there to work. How do you think a modifed 500 2x4 will do?

#7 Re: Ranger and RZR Performance Mods » R&R 2005 Polaris Ranger camshaft » 2009-03-07 17:11:53

I think I am going to let my dealer install it. I will install the clutch, jetting, pipe and a few other mods myself. Cant wait to see the difference!

I see that you are form Palmdale, how is Jawbone? I used to live in Bakersfield and rode there often. I also have friends who ride in Lancaster and Rosamond.

Thanks for the input!

So how hard was the cam in the 700? Did you need any special tools?

Thanks! I spoke to Jimmy today, he is sending me the pipe, clutch, cam and filter today. I will post reults after installing them. I need the extra power due to the addition of larger tires and added weight.

Has anyone heard of Bikeman Performance? I am looking at their pipe, clutch kit and Koso gauge for my 2005 2x4 Ranger.
