Re: Installed new 3" intake with K&N filter

big_smile  big_smile  big_smile Just tested my new intake mod and it works great.  I can burn the tires from a dead stop on the blacktop.  WOW what a difference!  I did a combination of ideas from KIMMER, timw60, and 470LTZ.  I tried to do this with the 2 1/2" electrictrical conduit but I couldn't make the bend.

Installed K&N directly on the throttle body boot with a piece of hose over the downstream side of the filter to expand it to 3"

Cut 3 1/2" hole in corner of bed with a hole saw.

Purchase 4 to 3" reducer

Took it down to the local muffler shop and they did the rest.  Brackets and chrome tail piece.

Costs:
K&N Filter online $105.00
K&N Filter outer ware $37.00
4 to 3" reducer $28.00
Hose clamps $12.00
Pipe/hangers, and chrome tailpiece $122.00

Re: Installed new 3" intake with K&N filter

Let us know how it works in the dusty conditions and keep checking the intake for dust, It does give that diesel look but will void the warranty unfortunately. :!:  :?:  big_smile

Re: Installed new 3" intake with K&N filter

The real test would be on the trail roads surely it will get some mud, water and dust. But good intake upgrade though.
